Trust the process!

Trusting the process is the HARDEST concept to understand. We all want it NOW and now isn't fast enough. When you are embarking on a new adventure, whatever that may be, you need to prepare yourself for the length of time it will take you to accomplish that goal. The problem? Hard focus on the end goal and not enough focus on what steps in the middle are actually necessary to get there.
The truth is, we see the end product for many things and we "forget" the middle, or like I call it: The GRIND. You see nothing comes easy and we all know you need to work your butt off to get the end goal but that is freaking hard to do sometimes without feeling defeated. You can't "think" your way to a goal, you physically need to get out there and work on it. Hence you see my hashtag all the time #dothework.
It's pretty simple, shift your mindset. In order to grow, prepare to fail. When you fail, learn from it. It's really easy when the true colors of people start to show up. Just look at these examples:
I want a 6 pack...................................Eat right and train hard
I want to become a millionaire............I need to do XYZ
I want to own my own business........What risk do I need to take?
Truth is, you need to be less passive and more active. Now that you’ve shifted your mindset from one of passive to active, you’ve just put yourself in a position where you can work out how you are going to actually achieve your goal instead of daydreaming about it and being lost in the fantasy.
Here are some key concepts:
Control what you CAN and leave it at that. A simple mindset shift can make the most troublesome moments become more bearable. You won’t be able to control everything that happens to you in life, but you can control how you respond.
Next, live in the moment. Too many of us go through life being so focused on the end goal that we forget to just be in the moment and live. How many times have you heard of a successful person who works 80 hour weeks only to never spend anytime with their family. Yup that isn't living that is drowning. By over focusing on your end goal, you totally forget to enjoy the moment.
Make action! This might seem common sense but really you need to put action forward! At times, it will feel like you aren’t making any progress. Focus on the small things you can do right now, where you are, will keep you motivated when things begin to stall. Small things repeated over and over again yield large turnover results.
There’s a quote by author Paulo Coelho[1] :
“And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”
What I think he meant to say was :
“When you want something, and you start working towards it, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”
